In late 2019, IWM, renowned for its captivating exhibitions and enduring commitment to preserving the memory of conflict, stood at the precipice of a new era. Having successfully concluded a momentous capital appeal for Phase Two of its Regeneration programme, the museum was poised to embark on an ambitious vision for the next decade.

To orchestrate this grand narrative, IWM sought the expertise of Charisma, a recruitment firm renowned for its discerning eye and unwavering commitment to finding the perfect fit. The task at hand was demanding: to identify a Director of Development who could seamlessly blend strategic acumen with fundraising prowess, guiding IWM's fundraising efforts to new heights.

Charisma embarked on a meticulous journey, scouring its network of contacts and delving into the depths of the talent pool. The firm's seniors consultants meticulously evaluated potential candidates, seeking an individual who possessed not only a proven track record of success in fundraising but also a deep understanding of IWM's mission and values.

After an intensive and targeted search, multiple credible candidates emerged, each possessing a unique blend of skills and experience. The selection process was rigorous, encompassing in-depth assessments and insightful discussions with IWM's leadership team. Through this collaborative approach, Charisma ensured that the chosen candidate would not only excel in their role but also seamlessly integrate into the museum's dynamic culture.

The successful appointment of the Director of Development marked the first harmonious note in a symphony of successful recruitments for IWM. Impressed by Charisma's expertise and unwavering support, IWM entrusted the firm with the task of securing further senior positions, including an Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications, a Financial Controller, Head of Procurement and an Assistant Director of Public Engagement and Learning.

In each instance, Charisma meticulously navigated the recruitment landscape, identifying exceptional individuals who possessed the skills, experience, and passion to align perfectly with IWM's strategic objectives. Charisma's unwavering commitment to understanding IWM's unique culture and values ensured that each appointment would contribute to the museum's overarching mission.

The summer of 2023 witnessed the culmination of Charisma's partnership with IWM when the firm successfully placed the museum's new Director of Finance and Resources. This crucial appointment demanded a chartered accountant qualification and extensive experience in leading strategic HR, alongside other key resource areas.

Charisma meticulously conducted a well-governed campaign, adhering to robust processes to ensure the selection of the most suitable candidate for this critical role. The chosen individual started in late Autumn 2023, brought with them a wealth of expertise and a deep appreciation for IWM's mission.

IWM's continued collaboration with Charisma underscores our unwavering commitment to finding the perfect fit for our clients. By understanding the nuances of each organisation's unique needs and aspirations, Charisma consistently delivers exceptional results, ensuring that its clients are empowered with the leadership they need to thrive.
