Guts UK is the only UK charity funding research into the digestive system from top to tail, the gut, liver and pancreas. Since 1971, we have funded almost 300 projects and invested £16 million into medical research that leads to better diagnoses and treatments for the millions of people who suffer from these conditions.
Guts UK’s vision is of a world where digestive disorders are better understood, better treated and everyone who lives with one gets the support they need.
The charity is now seeking a Chair of Trustees to support the organisation upon an ambitious journey of transformation and growth. Transitioning from an inward-looking research-based organisation to a public facing repository of knowledge, a network of experts and a proactive community, Guts UK aims to become the central UK charity and research organisation promoting and educating the public about the importance of a healthy gut.
As Chair of Trustees you will work in partnership with the Board and CEO to define and steer the governance and strategy of the charity and be able to provide support and challenge in equal measure.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Significant leadership experience
Experience of being a brand ambassador
A commercial approach with experience of developing strategy in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on impact
Ability and drive to support and enhance the fundraising efforts of the organization
Clear alignment to the vision and mission of the charity
The Chair will be excellent at building relationships with a collaborative style and understand the importance of giving the board a voice.
If you feel you have the skills, passion and drive we would love to hear from you. This unremunerated role is open to all who meet the essential criteria.
