We are working in partnership with The Baytree Centre, an educational charity for women and girls based in the heart of Brixton, London, serving economically deprived and otherwise vulnerable local families through delivering educational services for women and girls. Their mission is to inspire and support women and girls to gain the skills, confidence, and wisdom they need to thrive in life, work and family. Baytree's core principles are based on Catholic social teachings and they inform how they live out their mission.

With the forthcoming retirement of their current Chief Executive, a highly motivated, visionary and strategically driven new Chief Executive is needed to lead the organisation into the future. Building on these solid foundations, the CEO will work effectively with Baytree’s Board of Trustees to deliver the charity’s strategic objectives, business and financial plans; and to develop and maintain a positive, accountable and impactful organisation. The role will be supported by the Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Track record of senior strategic leadership in the charity sector

  • Experience of strategic and operational planning, financial and human resource management, budget and KPI setting, monitoring ongoing performance and evaluation

  • Experience of building and developing relationships and networks, with the ability to influence policy development and change

  • Sound understanding and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion

  • Ability to work effectively with a Board of Trustees, Directors, or similar, to develop and maintain high performing governance.

The successful candidate will be authentic, and empathic, with strong influencing skills. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire and speak with credibility and conviction to the Board, with stakeholders, funders and the wider public, and to build a sense of passion and engagement will be essential. You will have exceptional leadership skills to steer the strong and committed staff, excellent finance skills and a track record of translating vision into reality. You will also have the commitment to upholding and promoting Baytree’s core principles, mission and values.
