We are working in partnership with an East London homelessness charity, whose mission is to build hope, enable lasting change, and end homelessness for people in East London. They help people in the local community by providing safe places to stay, offering support, through the provision of personalised educational and life skills opportunities and by building resilience.

They are going through an exciting period of change and growth, having recently launched an ambitious strategic plan, and are seeking a Communications and Supporter Manager to cover a MAT leave (fixed term until October 2022). Reporting to the Chief Executive, the new postholder will provide strategic direction and manage those responsible for brand, communications, events and fundraising (individual giving, legacies, community and corporate partnerships). Leading on their ongoing brand refresh and the development and delivery of their fundraising and communications strategies is expected.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of producing communications and/or fundraising strategies in the charity sector.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Experience of managing and developing a high-performing team.

  • Digital marketing experience.

  • Strategic understanding of supporter management and journeys.

  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, databases and digital media platforms.

  • Brand management experience is desirable.

We are seeking an individual with exceptional organisational skills, including time management, a high level of accuracy/attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to secure and maintain professional relationships at all levels and with key stakeholders.
