We are working in partnership with Solent Mind whose mission it is to make sure anyone in the local community experiencing a mental health issue has somewhere to turn to for advice, information, and support.They have a strong reputation for the work they do locally to support people living with a mental health problem, and to prevent people becoming unwell. Solent Mind work as active members of the Mind Federation, which supports people across the whole of England and Wales, to make sure their pioneering campaigns, information and research makes a difference in Hampshire.
Solent Mind is now seeking a Development Director, who will have responsibility for all business development, marketing and income generation. The postholder will build independent, sustainable funding streams through effective marketing, partnership building and fundraising, and through developing social enterprise and traded services.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:
Significant senior management experience working within a substantial organisation, working with multiple partners
Experience of leading on the development, implementation and review of an organisational wide strategy for income generation
Proven track record of successful submission of tenders and/or traditional forms of fundraising
Demonstrable experience of building collaborative partnerships across the corporate and voluntary sectors, as well as within our organization
Proven experience of positively managing change and leading an effective income generating team
Sound financial, governance and risk management experience
You will provide clear and long-term direction to the income generation and marketing teams, develop highly effective partnerships, and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. You will be a passionate advocate for mental health, as well as possessing an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot and pursue new opportunities.
