We are working in partnership with Canine Partners, who transform the lives of people with physical disabilities by partnering them with assistance dogs. Their amazing dogs bring a greater independence and quality of life to their partners, offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks, as well as increasing confidence, social interaction and self-esteem

The organisation is now seeking a Director of People to join the senior leadership team. The role will create and deliver the people strategy to support their new organisational strategy, providing visible and professional leadership to staff and volunteers, and ensuring that true equality, diversity and inclusion is threaded through everything they do.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A professional qualification (CIPD or equivalent) and at least 5 years’ experience working in a senior human resources role

  • Demonstrable strategic and operational experience working with volunteers

  • Experience of thinking strategically and analysing issues to identify and implement creative solutions

  • Visible, inclusive and collaborative leadership with the ability to develop and maintain successful, productive relationships both internally and externally

  • Experience of coaching and influencing staff to deliver new ways of working.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce and present concise and informative written reports and gain credibility.

You will be a collaborative and co-operative leader, with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure with a high degree of professionalism.
