We are working in partnership with Montessori Group, a global leader in Montessori provision, supporting quality Montessori education throughout the world through social impact, training, quality assurance and support for families and educators. With the child at the heart of all they do, the Montessori Group works with governments, organisations, families, and Montessori educators to ensure that the Montessori approach is as beneficial to society in the 21st Century as it was in the 20th Century.
The organisation is now seeking a Finance Director on an interim basis to join their team. The role will support the Charity and subsidiary Boards, the Finance Committee and the Executive Team as well as the group’s Head of Finance and her team.
The successful candidate will need to be a qualified ICAEW or CIMA and demonstrate the following:
Working at Board level and with Finance Committees, having principal responsibilities in each area and a working knowledge of good governance including charity regulation
responsibility for a group structure (preferably a charity with a trading subsidiary) operating internationally, both online and in-person
Supporting CEOs and executive teams
Treasury strategy, planning and management and reporting
Competency in financial controls and processes including writing policies and procedures.
An understanding fundraising principles and submitting bids
Management of grant funding, both received and given and experience in delivery of social impact programmes
Management accounting and reporting including budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. Financial management. Statutory accounting, corporation tax and full responsibility for year-end process. Being the principal relationship holder with external auditor.
Effective communication of ideas and arguments, and ability to make supported judgments.
