Fundraising Officer (Trusts and Grants) - FareShare Midlands

We are working in partnership with FareShare Midlands, the region’s largest food redistribution charity, fighting food poverty and hunger by tackling waste. They source good quality food that is surplus to requirements from retailers and manufacturers and rely on an army of volunteers to help redistribute food to 550 frontline charities, such as school breakfast clubs, community centres and organisations supporting those who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated and recovering from addiction. These organisations provide meals and food parcels to more than 35,000 vulnerable people every week.

They are now seeking a Fundraising Officer to lead on the creation, submission and management of a portfolio of trust and grant applications in order to achieve financial targets in line with their growth plans. This is an exciting time to join FareShare Midlands as they develop and expand their operations across the East and West Midlands.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of securing gifts from trusts, grants and/or foundations, from researching and writing compelling funding applications, to impact reporting

  • Experience in prospecting for new business, stewarding funders face to face and managing donor relationships

  • Experience of delivering against an income targets

  • Ability to keep good administrative records

  • Confidence in presenting to a range of audiences

We are seeking a creative individual with excellent communication, persuasion and writing skills. Building good relationships, with the ability to meet objectives and deadlines, and experience of working well in a team is essential.
