We are working in partnership with the leading international charity campaigning for farm animal welfare. Their mission is to end factory farming – the biggest form of animal cruelty on the planet, and the issue at the centre of many of the world’s biggest challenging debates, including climate change and sustainable food production.
They are now seeking a Global Communications Officer to help boost the charity’s profile and campaigns through traditional media, social media, and other communication channels. You will generate international media coverage, use breaking stories to drive campaigns and polices, sell-in stories, produce content across a range of channels, and be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of our global media coverage. Supporting the coordination of media work in country offices and taking part in an out-of-hours on-call rota is expected.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
· Educated to Degree level and/or 2-3 years’ experience in a busy newsroom or press office
· Proven track record of dealing with the media, for example in a press office, TV production or as a journalist
· Experience writing effective copy for different audiences
· Good knowledge of media
· Knowledge of how to use the media to raise the profile of a campaigning organisation
· Proven experience of using media monitoring services to report on press and social media reach
We are looking for an individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work flexibly, juggle priorities and meet tight deadlines and pay close attention to detail.
