We are working in partnership with an organisation who delivers world-class research, learning and teaching that transforms the knowledge, action and leadership needed for more equitable and sustainable development globally.

They are now seeing a Grants Officer for six months who will work with the Acting Head of Fundraising and Development to deliver the ‘engaged excellence’ strategy through supporting the development of the Institute’s intellectual agenda and ensuring the financial health of the Institute. The role of the Grants Officer is to act as a focal point for knowledge of the market for development research and information and to support engagements with it through co-ordination of activities, internal and external communication and administrative support.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for facilitating the Director of Research, the Clusters and Hubs in delivering the strategy of the Institute in relation to its research and teaching objectives and income generation.

  • Acts as the interface between the institute and its main funding partners, maintaining good relationships with key funder contacts; keeping abreast of donor priorities, requirements and expectations.

  • Prepare new proposals and tenders, providing administrative support to ensure that proposals conform to funding requirements and are submitted within deadlines.

  • Maintaining an overview of the Institute’s research activities, including maintaining projects database in CRM, authorisation of proposals; and production of reports from it as required for the Board Resources, Risk and Audit Committee.

  • Have experience with working with the FCDO, UKRA, Gates Foundation.

The Grants Officer oversees relationships, ensuring appropriate dissemination of opportunities and managing any substantive agreements with guidance from the Contracts and Compliance Manager and in liaison with the Partnerships Coordinator. You will have excellent communications skills and be able to prioritise work and keep to deadlines.
