We are working in partnership with RedR UK, an international disaster relief charity, which saves lives by giving aid workers the vital skills they need to do their jobs to the highest possible standard. The charity provides training and technical support to NGOs and thousands of people each year, from providing emergency shelter, to staying safe in the field, from project management after emergencies, to essential water and sanitation skills and more. RedR UK is also a Membership organisation, with a global network of 1,800 Members, all of whom are experienced humanitarian professionals.

They are seeking a Head of Fundraising and Communications for a MAT cover, 9-month contract. The postholder will be responsible for assuring excellent performance, quality, and impact in the delivery of fundraising against targets. With overall responsibility for all relationships for voluntary and statutory income, the Head of Fundraising and Communications will be supported by the Fundraising Team, the CEO and a small group of Trustees, who contribute directly through introductions and direct support for network fundraising. The role requires external networking and representation at various forums to build on RedR’s reputation, forge new relationships and alliances, influence policy and decision makers, and identify opportunities for funding, diversification and growth. Internally, similar attributes are needed in facilitating cross-departmental collaboration, effective communication, information sharing and capacity building across the organisation.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven track record in variety of voluntary sector fundraising and communication roles, at a senior level

  • Significant experience of corporate new business fundraising and account management, at a strategic level

  • Experience overseeing a grant fundraising programme, including trusts, foundations, and statutory grant applications

  • Experience of major donor and legacy giving cultivation

  • Experience in preparing and managing budgets, and the management of financial and administrative systems

  • Understanding of and commitment to the humanitarian sector

We are seeking an individual who is comfortable working at both strategic and operational level, with excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to liaise and represent the organisation.
