We are working in partnership with a well-established charity that transforms the lives of people with physical disabilities, bringing a greater sense of independence and quality of life, and offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks, as well as increasing confidence, social interaction and self-esteem.

The organisation is now seeking a Senior Communications Officer on a 12-month MAT cover contract. The postholder will be part of the Marketing & Income Generation team and be responsible for the creation, planning and delivery of strategies and campaigns, in support of fundraising events, corporate initiatives, and campaigns to raise awareness, using broadcast, PR and digital promotion channels. As a brand champion, the ability to give guidance on the accurate, effective and consistent use of brand, tone of voice and house style for copy and image content used across both online and offline channels is essential. The postholder will also be responsible for conceptualising stories and angles to pitch and proactively approach media outlets to generate positive coverage, as well as compiling and delivering stories across all channels.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in planning and campaign management, particularly in broadcast and digital channels

  • Experience fulfilling conceptual briefs from a copy/visual perspective

  • Experience as a brand ambassador or brand champion

  • Experience of copywriting for a variety of channels and audiences

  • Video and/or photography skills are desired

We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated individual with great attention to detail and communication skills. While working efficiently at pace, you will strive to deliver high quality work and achieve high standards. As an ambassador for the charity, you will have the ability to champion the charity’s values and interact with their partners and volunteers. A full driver’s licence is required for this role.
