Job Title: Office Administrator

Salary: £20,000

Hours: Full Time – Flexible Hours Considered

Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is a unique charity that offers help to ex-service personnel and their dependents.  Since 2008, VOS has been running a monthly Drop-In at the Royal Maritime Club (RMC) Portsmouth, hosting a mix of charities and other organisations offering comprehensive welfare assistance (employment, housing, financial advice, etc), and supported by an in-house mental health team.

The charity now wishes to appoint an Office Administrator who will be essential to the running of VOS.  You will be the first point of contact for veterans and other VOS contacts, so critical to the charity’s public image. You will be vital in providing continuity and maintaining communication services to keep VOS staff in touch with each other.  You will also provide support to the CEO, Clinical Manager and other members of staff.

The successful individual will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong administrative and planning skills
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Background knowledge of the Armed Forces and familiar with the military culture

You will be a patient individual with the ability to remain calm when talking to potentially distressed people.  You will be a collaborative team player and be able to prioritise and manage your own workload.
