We are working in partnership with a leading humanitarian charity delivering information services and products to help humanitarian responders in disasters and conflicts. Their information helps responders understand vulnerabilities and target their response effectively, contributing to saving lives and minimising suffering. Their aim is to create software that can automate data-related workflows, making data processing easier and more accessible for them and their partners.
We are seeking a software developer looking for their next challenge and possibly their first role in the charity sector. The postholder will design and develop innovative tools, which will enable effective mapping and data analysis during disasters and conflicts, contributing valuable insights that will increase their ability to be prepared for emergencies, solve geospatial challenges, increase resiliency, and more effectively coordinate relief efforts. The postholder will work closely with the data science team and the emergency response team to bring together a streamlined, cohesive product that will influence decision-making at the highest levels of humanitarian response and help save lives.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
Proven experience in developing software solutions
Experienced with Git, Github and Python programming
We are seeking a positive team player, with the ability to work collaboratively. The postholder must have the right to live and work in the UK or Europe. The role will be remote working, but attendance at their Oxfordshire office once a month will be at own expense.
