Fundraising Manager - Doorstep Library

London, United Kingdom
£40,000
Permanent
Closing on 27 March 2025

We are working in partnership with Doorstep Library, a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the gift of books and the joy of reading into the homes of families across London. With one in four 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write properly, the charity introduces young children (aged 0-11 years) to the pleasure and benefits of reading.

Their work is concentrated in areas where opportunities for reading are restricted – there may be limited access to books in the home or language barriers may be preventing parents or carers from being able to provide additional reading support to the children in their care. Their unique home-based service, whether in person or online, brings books to fuel children’s natural love of stories, fire their imaginations, and encourage their appreciation of reading. Their goal is to help each child develop the self-confidence and essential skills they need to access all the opportunities that will come their way in life.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an agile and creative Fundraising Manager. Supported by a Fundraising Officer, the new Fundraising Manager will be an astute fundraiser, able to make and develop relationships with stakeholders and manage funding portfolios, including maintaining and developing a robust pipeline of trusts and foundations, but also diversifying income through new partnerships and donor cultivation and stewardship.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of successful fundraising/partnership activity.
  • Experience of raising funds from trusts and foundations, managing existing relationships and identifying and cultivating new funding relationships.
  • Knowledge/experience of raising income using a wide range of fundraising methods.

We are seeking an individual with excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively, and able adapt quickly to changes in the funding environment. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to flex their fundraising muscles in the not-for-profit sector and be instrumental in helping Doorstep Library to build a charitable fundraising structure for the future.

Your application should include your CV and supporting statement.

We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, or other category protected by law.

The successful candidate will undergo a DBS check by Doorstep Library.

Location: Hybrid – Home/London office (Victoria, SW1W 0DH, flexible and based on business need)

Closing date: 27 March 2025

Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, and the role will be closed sooner than the closing date when a successful appointment is made. Please apply without delay to avoid disappointment.
