An exceptional opportunity to lead one of the UK's most influential veterans' charities into its next chapter.
Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is an award-winning charity providing comprehensive welfare, wellbeing and mental health support to Armed Forces and Merchant Navy veterans, their families and carers across Portsmouth, the Solent and beyond. Working through a highly collaborative partnership model, VOS combines direct service delivery with regional leadership and national influence, helping thousands of people each year access the support they need.
Over the last decade, VOS has established itself as both a trusted frontline provider and an influential voice within the veterans' sector. Its impact has been further strengthened through its leadership within Thrive Together South East, its role on the Cobseo Executive Committee and its designation as a VALOUR-recognised centre as part of the Ministry of Defence's national programme to improve support for veterans.
Working closely with the Board of Trustees, Senior Management Team, staff and volunteers, the Chief Executive will lead VOS through its next phase of development, ensuring the charity remains financially sustainable, operationally effective and influential at local, regional and national level.
As Chief Executive, you will:
- Provide inspiring, visible and values-led leadership to VOS, its staff, volunteers and wider stakeholder community.
- Lead the delivery of the charity's strategic objectives, translating ambition into clear organisational priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Maintain oversight of organisational performance, governance, safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance.
- Take executive responsibility for financial sustainability, working with colleagues and trustees to strengthen and diversify income.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with funders, commissioners, NHS partners, local authorities, military charities and other key stakeholders.
- Champion high-quality, person-centred services that improve outcomes for veterans, families and carers.
- Represent VOS externally, helping to shape policy, influence practice and strengthen support for the wider veterans' community.
We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and emotionally intelligent leader who combines strategic capability with a practical and adaptable approach. You may already be a Chief Executive or Director, or you may have led a significant organisational function and be ready for your first CEO appointment.
You will bring experience of leadership, strategy development, financial oversight and partnership working. Equally important will be your ability to build trust, inspire teams, navigate complexity and represent the organisation with credibility across a wide range of audiences.
While previous experience within veterans' support services is not essential, you will have a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for veterans, families and carers and the ability to quickly develop an understanding of the sector and the communities VOS serves.
Please see the candidate pack for more details.
Veterans Outreach Support welcomes applications from all backgrounds and is committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation. Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Hours: Full-time, applications for 0.8 FTE may be considered.

Help shape the future of our National Parks
Campaign for National Parks is the only independent charity dedicated to securing the future of National Parks across England and Wales. Born from a social movement 75 years ago, their roots lie in protest and activism, with the earliest campaigns helping secure the creation of our National Parks. Today, they continue to challenge decision-makers, influence national policy and bring people together to achieve the vision of nature-rich National Parks for everyone.
They are now entering their next phase of work and are seeking 2-3 new Trustees to strengthen the Board, support effective succession planning and bring new perspectives and experiences to their leadership. This is an opportunity to help shape the direction of a respected and influential campaigning charity with a national identity and outlook.
We are particularly interested in people who could contribute to one or more of the following areas:
- A Trustee that can act as an advocate/spokesperson and help build networks, including via social media presence, profile and influence
- A Trustee to sit on Fundraising and Finance Committee and support the Treasurer
- A Trustee that can support strategic fundraising, especially individual giving
Who we are looking for
- We are looking for an influencer who can advocate for our work, help extend our reach, develop our networks and communicate our case to different audiences. You may bring experience from building your own social media presence and profile, campaigning, public affairs, communications, digital engagement, partnership development, media relations or acting as a spokesperson. You will be comfortable representing an organisation externally.
- You may bring experience from a corporate, commercial, or charity background. You might have experience of developing sustainable income, or making informed decisions about investment, opportunity and risk. What we need most is your commercial acumen, the ability to interpret financial information and willingness to contribute strategically to discussions about income diversification and long-term sustainability.
- We are also looking for a strategic fundraiser who may bring experience of individual giving, major donor fundraising, philanthropy, supporter development or income-generation strategy. You will provide informed challenge and guidance, help strengthen our fundraising proposition and support the organisation to build sustainable relationships.
Above all, you will share a commitment to securing wilder, more inclusive National Parks and recognise that environmental and social justice are inseparable.
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:
- experience of working with under-represented communities, championing social justice or helping organisations advance anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion; and/or
- lived experience of, or an appreciation for, the barriers faced by people who are under-represented in National Parks, including young people, people from lower-income or ethnically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities and disabled people.
Previous Trustee experience is not essential. We welcome first-time Trustees and will provide a comprehensive induction and appropriate support.

- Remuneration: The positions are voluntary and unpaid, although reasonable travel, accommodation and other agreed expenses will be reimbursed.
- Location: Hybrid – meeting online, in London or in National Parks

Picture a campfire on a CPAS Venture holiday; a group of teenagers, away from home for the first time in years, roasting marshmallows with leaders most of them met three days ago. They’re there because, somewhere along the way, someone decided they could trust CPAS with their child. That trust, repeated thousands of times a year, across parishes and residential holidays and leadership training, is what this Trustee role exists to protect.
CPAS has been carrying the gospel to local churches since 1836, and today that means supporting the appointment of clergy in over 700 parishes, training church leaders at every level, and running Venture and Falcon holidays where 8 to 18 year-olds explore life with Jesus, often away from their families for the first time. It’s a genuinely influential position in the life of the UK church, and the safeguarding of the young people and vulnerable adults in CPAS’s care sits underneath all of it.
This isn’t a hands-on safeguarding job, day-to-day casework stays with the CEO and Safeguarding Manager, but it is a serious one. You’ll make sure safeguarding has proper space on the Board’s agenda, not just a standing item nobody interrogates. You’ll review whether CPAS’s policies are actually keeping people safe, not just filed away. And when something goes wrong, an allegation against a staff member or volunteer, a case that might need reporting, you’re one of the people in the room helping CPAS respond with both care and rigour.
Alongside that, you’ll carry the full responsibilities of any CPAS Trustee: six Board meetings a year, mostly a mix of video call and in-person in London or Coventry, including one overnight residential, plus two further safeguarding committee meetings, reading minutes, and being available for occasional consultation between times. CPAS will train you for it, and pair you with a buddy trustee as you find your feet.
We’re looking for a committed, practising Christian, who brings safeguarding experience, sound judgment with the confidence to ask hard questions of senior staff, and a genuine understanding of what good safeguarding governance looks like. CPAS is particularly keen to hear from younger and more diverse trustees who can bring fresh insight to the Board.
Your application should include a comprehensive CV and a supporting statement of no more than two pages, describing any potential conflicts of interest.
Role details:
- Safeguarding Trustee (Lead Trustee for Safeguarding)
- Board meets in London and Coventry, plus one annual residential
- Voluntary, expenses (including childcare) reimbursed
Closing date: 10 December 2026
First stage interviews: w/c 4 January 2027 (online)

We welcome and encourage expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion*, sexual orientation, age, veteran status or other category protected by law.
* This post carries a genuine requirement: the postholder must be a committed, practising Christian who fully supports the mission of CPAS.
CMS already has individuals and trusts giving multi-year funding at significant levels. What it doesn’t have, yet, is someone leading that work. That’s this role.
Location: Hybrid, Oxford (minimum 2 days a week at CMS House)
Key benefits: Up to 10% pension, 36 days of annual and bank holiday leave plus other benefits
This is a new position, created because CMS believes there’s considerably more philanthropic income available to fund its mission, and the building blocks, real relationships, real multi-year gifts, are already in place. You won’t be starting from nothing, but you will be building the strategy as you go; developing CMS’s first dedicated philanthropy approach alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, while simultaneously delivering against a genuinely ambitious income growth plan.
You’ll lead a team of four, a trusts and key relationships lead, a major donor and trusts officer, a copywriter and a supporter care and events officer, and hold your own caseload of major donor relationships, leading high-value meetings and negotiating five- and six-figure gifts for CMS’s work in the UK and overseas.
You’ll have strategic oversight of the trusts and foundations portfolio, build a stewardship framework worthy of CMS’s most significant supporters, and work closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications and finance to make sure the whole organisation is pulling in the same direction behind this.
You’ll need a proven major gifts track record, real experience generating income from philanthropic relationships, and genuine comfort negotiating with senior figures and high-net-worth donors. You’ll also need to be a committed, practising Christian who is fully aligned with CMS’s values and aims, comfortable with regular UK travel including evenings and weekends, and up to two weeks of international travel a year to reach trusts and donors based overseas.
Applications should include your CV and a supporting statement. Please see the candidate pack for full details.
We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion*, sexual orientation, age, veteran status or other category protected by law.
*This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement that the postholder is a practising Christian, under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010, and all applicants must be wholeheartedly committed to the aims, ethos and values of Church Mission Society.

Church Relations Officer at Feba, building UK church partnerships and mobilising volunteers to support gospel media reaching hard-to-reach places globally.
- Contract & Hours: Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week), part-time considered (min 28 hours)
- Location: Home-based, with regular travel within reach of Bristol, Oxford, London and Feba's office in Steyning, West Sussex (office attendance once a fortnight)
Feba is a Christian mission charity passionate about God's mission and the creative use of radio and audio media to inspire people to follow Jesus. It has a particular heart for people in contexts considered closed, where people might not hear the gospel by any other means or where it's difficult to be a Christian.
Founded 65 years ago as a shortwave radio ministry, Feba now supports local partners across Africa, Asia and the Middle East with training, expertise and funding, so they can produce culturally appropriate content in a listener's 'heart language' and follow up in person wherever possible.
We're looking for a Church Relations Officer to join Feba's Supporter Engagement Team. With a passion for global mission, you'll take charge of developing Feba's partnerships with churches across the UK, encouraging congregations to pray for and support the work, while strengthening and growing Feba's team of volunteers.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Inspire churches to help bring the hope of the gospel to people living in some of the world's hardest-to-reach communities.
- Share powerful stories of transformed lives through preaching, speaking and representing Feba at churches, conferences and festivals nationwide.
- Lead and grow Feba's church engagement programme, creating opportunities for more churches and supporters to discover and support the ministry.
- Recruit, equip and encourage volunteers to become passionate advocates for Feba and its global ministry.
- Create compelling resources and communications that inspire prayer, generosity and deeper engagement with God's work around the world.
- Work alongside the Supporter Communications Officer to create engaging resources and stories that inspire churches to pray, give and partner with Feba's ministry.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm, Christ-centred team where daily prayer and shared reflection are part of the rhythm of work, and where the charity, from top to bottom, is ready to support you every step of the way.
Why work for Feba?
- 28 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
- 8% employer pension contribution (Group Personal Pension with Royal London)
- Life assurance (4× salary)
- Employee Assistance Programme
- An annual Retreat Day, with a contribution from Feba towards the cost
- Mileage paid for travel to churches
- A Christ-centred team culture, including daily prayer and shared reflections
A full clean driving licence is essential, as the role involves regular travel to churches and events, including some evenings and weekends.
For further details please see the candidate pack.
Your application should include your CV and a supporting statement (no more than two pages), which should include your journey of faith and how you understand God's call on your life at this point.
Key dates:
- Closing date: Monday 9th November 2026
- Charisma vetting interviews will be completed on a rolling basis and must be completed by: Wednesday 11th November 2026

Bible Society is inviting applications for three new Trustees, ahead of a deliberate, staged transition in its governance.
The current Treasurer and the current Chair of the People & Remuneration Committee both have around two years left in post. Rather than wait until those seats fall vacant, the Board is appointing their successors now; each will join as a Trustee, serve on the relevant committee, and shadow the outgoing chair over a planned transition before formally taking on the role. It is a considered approach to succession, and a rare opportunity to learn a 200-year-old charity's governance at a proper pace before assuming responsibility for one of these areas.
The third appointment, a Trustee with expertise in digital, AI and innovation is also required, to help the Board make wise, confident and ethical use of technology in pursuit of Bible Society's mission.
All three will sit on a Board governing a charity that has translated and distributed the Bible in people's own languages since 1804, and is today active in around 240 countries and regions, from Bible translation in the field to a faith and society think tank at home. The time commitment is modest relative to that scope: four in-person Board meetings a year, a January retreat, and committee support that equates to 10-12 days in total.
You will lead the Board's oversight of a complex, multi-entity financial structure, Bible Society and its trading subsidiary report under separate accounts, chairing a Committee that meets four times a year. You will need to be a qualified accountant with substantial senior experience of financial compliance, risk and governance, and the confidence to interrogate statutory accounts and audit findings.
Chair of the People & Remuneration Committee
You will lead the Board's oversight of culture, people strategy and senior remuneration, at an organisation actively investing in its people. A formal HR qualification is not required, but you will need substantial, hands-on experience of leading people and culture at a senior level, and the confidence to both challenge and support a Chief Executive and Leadership Team through genuine organisational change.
Trustee, Digital, AI & Innovation
You will help the Board understand what developments in AI and emerging technology mean for how people discover and engage with the Bible, and bring an entrepreneurial perspective to new opportunities and partnerships. You will need significant senior experience in technology or digital-led organisations, a track record of building or scaling a venture, and the ability to translate technical and commercial thinking into clear insight for a non-specialist Board.
Across all three roles, we are looking for a spiritually mature Christian faith, the confidence to speak your mind and be challenged in return, and a genuine willingness to contribute beyond your own specialism. Bible Society works interconfessionally and welcomes applications from Christians of every tradition.
Applications should include a comprehensive CV and a supporting statement of no more than two pages.
UK-wide, with in-person Board meetings

Eighteen schools. Nearly 9,500 children. A Trust that's grown from eight schools to eighteen in just over five years, now needs to add to its Board.
STCAT was built through merger and rapid expansion, and is now shifting from fast growth to consolidation; building the structures and capacity to match its current scale, and becoming a more outward-facing voice in Catholic education, with the Diocese, the Department for Education and the wider sector. Whichever role fits you, you'll be joining at the moment that shift is happening, not after it's done.
Ask any current Director to describe the Board and the same words come up, unprompted; collegiate, professional, and, more than once, a family. People who mostly didn't know each other have built something rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, robust enough to hold the executive team to account, but without anyone bringing their ego to the table.
Chair of the Board of Directors
You'll line manage the CEO, chair a Board of this size and culture, and increasingly become the person representing STCAT externally as the Trust looks outward. You don't need an education background, the Board actively welcomes Chairs from outside it, but you'll need significant senior leadership or board-level experience, real confidence reading a budget, and genuine experience chairing meetings and managing group dynamics.
Be realistic about the time; 5 to 6 days a month, and regular travel across Luton, Buckinghamshire and Slough. The Directors are working to bring that commitment down over time as they recruit to the Board, but it's real now.
Director (Trustee)
STCAT's Board was built for nine Directors. For a stretch, while the Trust doubled its schools, it ran on seven, which is why more than one new Director is needed now. You don't need to be a specialist, STCAT has professional advisers for that, but you do need the confidence to ask the questions nobody else is asking and work with the Board to support the executive team.
Day to day, that's five Board meetings a year, a seat on a committee where your expertise counts, and becoming Link Director to a small number of schools, visiting at least one Local Academy Committee meeting a year to see what the Board's decisions mean on the ground. Roughly two days a month. We're especially keen to hear from people with real expertise in finance, HR, legal and regulatory compliance, property and estates, risk, safeguarding, mental health, technology, or marketing and communications.
Not sure which role fits? Say so. Some Directors go on to become strong Chairs once they know the Board, and the current Chair is available for a handover period. Raise it in your first conversation with Adam.
Both posts carry a genuine occupational requirement; you'll need to be a practising Catholic and genuinely committed to Catholic Social Teaching.
Both are voluntary roles, appointed by the Bishop of Northampton for a four-year term, renewable for up to two further terms.
Applications should include a comprehensive CV and a supporting statement of no more than two pages.
We welcome and encourage expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion*, sexual orientation, age, veteran status or other category protected by law.
*Due to the nature of the role, it is a genuine occupational requirement that the postholder is a committed, practising Catholic and fully supports the objectives of the Trust.

Help shape the future of a charity that stands beside families from diagnosis through every stage of their Duchenne journey. Join Action Duchenne as a Trustee.
Almost two families a week in the UK hear these words: "Your child has Duchenne muscular dystrophy."
There is no cure. But there can be someone on the other end of the phone who understands. That is what Action Duchenne has offered families for nearly 25 years, from the moment of diagnosis, through the hardest days, right through to bereavement support.
As one parent put it: "From the first phone call, I felt completely understood and supported."
Now the charity is strengthening its Trustee Board, and we are proud to be working with them exclusively.
They are looking for people with independent judgement who are not afraid to ask good questions. Finance, fundraising, impact measurement and communications experience is particularly welcome.
You do not need to know anything about Duchenne.
First-time trustees are encouraged, with a full induction and training.
What to expect:
- Voluntary role, with reasonable travel expenses met
- Most meetings held remotely, with quarterly away days in London
- Around 8 hours a month

What's in it for you?

- Develop your governance and leadership experience
- Work alongside a passionate and committed Board
- Make a meaningful difference to families affected by Duchenne
If you want to use your professional skills to create lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you. These unremunerated roles are open to all.
This role is subject to a DBS check, which will be carried out by the employer.
